MISSION STATEMENT

It is the mission of Flanders School to create a collaborative and respectful learning community for all students, staff and families. We will accomplish this through a shared commitment focusing on success for every student.

What Makes an All-Star?

A National Blue Ribbon School, Flanders Elementary School is adjacent to the Central Office building in the village of Flanders and serves the north end of East Lyme. Flanders Elementary is also within walking distance of East Lyme High School and the athletic complex.

While Flanders Elementary School emphasizes the basic academic skills, we also feature extensive and diverse enrichment programs and activities. Flanders School is structured to provide a unique opportunity for students to explore in a nurturing environment that celebrates diversity and individuality.

Flanders School Goals:

• Grade level teams work interdependently to achieve common goals that directly impact student achievement.
• Support the three major principles of the common core state standards for Math (Focus, Coherence, Rigor) and are dedicated to the development and implementation of at least one unit of study.
• Elevate teacher knowledge along with student performance in developmental spelling and word working through application and transfer activities in Journeys Word Study Teacher's Guide for grades K-4.
• Support the social/emotional growth and well-being of all students.
